Scene & Heard

Scene & Heard is a unique mentoring programme that partners the inner city children of Somers Town, London, with volunteer theatre professionals, to give them an experience of quality one-on-one adult attention and to enable them to write and sometimes perform their own plays.

The fundamental purpose of the project is to boost the self-esteem of the children involved by giving them a public platform for their voice and by providing a personal experience of success.

By introducing the children to a new way of working with language Scene & Heard also strives to improve attitudes towards learning and literacy skills.

Hugh has been a patron since 2008.
